OK, I need your opinion. Here's what I'm thinking about doing to expand my border on Orca Bay:
That fabric is where the color scheme came from and what is going on the backing. I would love my quilt to be bigger and this is one way to do it. I kinda like it, but am probably too close to the quilt to be subjective. So what do you think?

No! A light green border, please!
Interesting idea, Bejus70. Solid, pieced, print, strings? What would be good?
Looking at the big picture of the finished quilt in the previous post, and then this one, maybe a narrow red border, then a larger green border would tie it all together. For me, having a lighter green border next to the lighter gold (or neutral?) border just doesn't work - I like more contrast than that. But that's just me :D
Okay I'm outnumbered. When I saw the picture; without reading the post; I thought 'wow, this fabric ties everything together'. So I like the pailsey fabric on the outside, but like the others, I agree a solid dark color is needed to bridge the gap between the blocks and the paisley border.
I'm not crazy about it - the paisley doesn't seem to go with the elegance of the overall quilt.
Hi Gail, the gold I used in the photo probably won't be the one that goes in the quilt. It will most likely be a pieced border like the inner neutral one and my gold scraps are darker than that FQ. So would that help?
I like the idea of a print border but not one with such a regular design. Something more "all over" would be nice. A small floral with all the colors? :-)
I'm with Gail, I like it!
First I must say that I LOVE your finished quilt top. Second, it's difficult to say from the photo, but I'd be careful that a solid border of this fabric might swamp the subtle pattern and colours in the quilt. Only you can tell whether it would do this or enhance it :)
NOPE - I agree with Katie... The paisley is too regular.
I love the red! love it!
