Wild geese

Look at those colors.  Wild geese indeed.

I did the border the way the pattern specified and now I hate it.  Haven't decided if I will pick it all out and try something else, and not sure how much fabric I have left to make another design.  For now it's folded up in the drawer.  I like the center, just not the border.

I'm tempted to order a yard of the multicolored leaf print on cream that's in one of the setting triangles for an outer border (if I can find it), and trim the existing border down to about 1" finished to keep as an inner border.  Or rip it all off and think some more.  Suggestions?

What is not to like here, girl?? I LOVE it and IMHO the border is the icing on the cake. :) I really do love the whole setting...

Looks great to me too! I think a light border would just die on there - it needs the color to pull out those geese - just sayin'!

I have to agree with the other commentors....I LIKE the bright borders.

First off I thought wow - lovely. Then I looked closer to see what you didn't like and, although I love the colours, because the diagonals don't line up with anything within the centre they jar. Is that what is spoiling it for you? Trimming it narrower and adding another border would help, but YOU need to be happy with it otherwise it will become a UFO :)

I've taken a while to post on this as I've looked and gone away and then come back to it and then gone away and so on. Still not convinced by the border - you are right. Somehow a classic quilt block (FG) seems to be rocking an 80s vibe with those zigzaggy border blocks. Colours are great - it's just that shape that seems wrong to me.
