One thing about home grown tomatoes - they're not as perfect as the perfectly colored, perfectly round tomatoes you see in the grocery, but are they ever good. Three kinds here, Brandywine, Celebrity and Roma. I see pasta in my future.
Which ones are the brandywine? I planted a brandywine for the first time this year but it got massive hail damage and did not make it. I am wondering if I should try again next year?
Yummm! If we plant hot house tomatos here, on June 1, we might have them by September 1, that is if fall frost or hail (see Paula's post) doesn't get them! Arghhhh This year I just didn't even try. 8-(

Nothing, absolutely nothing, beats the taste of a home-grown tomato.
