Indecision

All forty-two blocks for my batik version of Schnibbles' "Little Red" pattern are complete, and I have made 168 half square triangles from the cut off corners. These will be assembled into 42 pinwheel blocks to go in the border somehow. I've played on EQ for a while but can't decide.

There aren't enough pinwheels to complete the entire inner border so I thought of combining them with the blue batik of the outer border. I'm leaning toward this arrangement: But I am always so symmetrical in my thinking I even bore myself, so I tried this uneven arrangement. Then my old ways reasserted themselves and I tried this also: I just can't decide! What do you think?

I'm up for #2.

You can't go wrong with any of those layouts, but I'm partial to the first and the third ones.

I would definitely do something NON symetrical -- the quilt itself is so 'regular' and the pattern is 'expected." I would put a lot of them on the lower left side and a lesser number on the upper right.

However, every time I think I know what I'm talking about, I don't, and the quilt is finished an entirely different way than what I predicted, and it's gorgeous! Maybe a finished quilt is just gorgeous. 8-)))

#2. It's non-symmetrical but it pulls your eye into the quilt and frames it really nicely. Seems to give it flow and motion but in a good way-not the stop the tilt a whirl I need to get off way.

I like 1 and 2 - 2 is definately growing on me after looking at them all several times. Although it's non symmetrical it has a lovely feel to it. You have been very busy indeed.

Hmm, I like #2 and #1. #3 just doesn't do it for me. I agree with Becca about the layout drawing your eye into the quilt.

My favorite look, the one I love best is #2, it just says something to me.

I think they're all gorgeous. And I'm in awe of anyone who quilts. I just don't have the patience.
