It's supposed to look like the bow on a package, and it's cute. I may add another outer border of the red print before I quilt it but for now, in the "Later" drawer it goes!
"American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson" by Joseph J Ellis
I bought a copy of this last year for my brother but never got around to reading it myself; I wonder if he did. Anyway, the last books I finished were "The Sisters: The Saga of the Mitford Family" and "Wait for Me!", an autobiography by the Duchess of Devonshire (trying to get a balanced view from both Deborah Mitford and their biographer), and both were a bit gossipy for a serious study. Hard to avoid that when you're writing about the Mitfords - one was a Communist, one was a Fascist, one was a Duchess, one was a writer, one was a country gentlewoman, and one was a fanatical Hitler apologist who shot herself when Germany and England declared war. I guess I'd better get back to the intellectual high ground and knuckle down with a serious historical biography.
