Or rather, lack of progress. Eight patches and some basting does not progress make. But I have been doing a lot of everything except sewing this week.You can see how the dragonfly body pops off the background. There's one small wing segment there too. It's going to be great, if I can ever get back to working on it.

It's going to be wonderful when it's finished. Just keep working at it -- when you feel like it. I think sometimes a project like that needs a "rest" period when one doesn't work on it. I'm impressed you're working with black -- I wouldn't dare with the two kitties in our household. It would be incredibly furry -- as I'm convinced black has magnetic properties for kitty fur, no matter what the fabric content!
